Being a prequalified contractor for US Airforce, we have started to use imported construction materials, and import directly beginning of 1990. In this period we built up connection with some European and mostly Swedish manufacturers & exporters. The leading company was CARDOO DOOR AB, (today a company in Assa Abloy Group). Than we have started to import Air Curtains, a very new product for Turkish market from FRICO AB (today a company in System Air group).
We are significantly cooperated with couple of small local Swedish manufacturers that does not have export organizations, we present them the Turkish market, and unable them to export to Turkey through our company. (As BERNOSS AB, TORWERK AB in Torsby).
I met SCC in the similar time, while it was a club of leading Swedish companies. Once we made a visit to Mr. Ishak Alaton together with the Swedish Trade Commissioner Mr. Torbjörn Stackling, Mr Alaton advised me to move my company to İstanbul and also invited me to SCC meetings.
I sold one of my companies to ASSA ABLOY AB in 2008, acted 2 years as MD there, now I am working as International trade consultant. I have some ongoing projects at Kuwait and Dubai. Recently I was in Stockholm for some business contacts.
